My name is Annie. I come from a small town in Maryland and a big-hearted Italian family. I recently graduated from Shepherd University with a B.A. in History and a minor in Psychology.
Post-graduating has been hard, I was always one of those people who knew exactly what they wanted to do with their life. My dream was to be a lawyer but after college those plans have changed for a lot of reasons such as money, trying to find a stable job and the many health issues that have been dealt my way. Since the last 4.5 years of my life were completely planned it has been a challenge to find myself in all of this.
I also have Crohns Disease- which impacts the GI tract. Having this disease has made me super aware of the things I put into my body and how important it is to listen to your body (which I am still learning). As of recently I am in remission but have also been diagnosed with symptoms of heart failure (which no one can seem to figure out why at 24 years old I have it).
This blog is to share my experience with transitioning college students, those who suffer from autoimmune diseases and some of my favorite things to help me get through life’s mysterious happenings.
